Estenia Gomez Elisevich was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Proudly of Mexican and Salvadoran descent, she is a first-generation Latina who has demonstrated a strong commitment to her cultural roots and community. Estenia graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a B.A. in Psychology and a B.S. in Human Development. She furthered her education by earning a Masters of Social Work (MSW) from Wayne State University.
As a Limited Licensed Masters of Social Worker (LLMSW), Estenia has accumulated extensive experience in various social work settings, including adolescent mental health, case management, and higher education programming. She is passionate about providing services to first generation scholars, advocating for mental health awareness, and the Latinx communities.
Estenia’s dedication to social work is driven by her belief in the power of empathy, advocacy, community, and social justice. She aspires to make a meaningful impact in the lives of the Center scholars by creating inclusive and supportive communities. Beyond her professional life, Estenia enjoys reading, working out, eating at new restaurants, and spending time with her husband and two children.
